Feeding the insatiable: a creative summit taking place over three days and hosted by Schumacher College

This international summit takes place at Dartington Hall in southwest England from 16.30 on November 9 to 16.30 on November 11, 2016.

Significantus is a performance project created by Lola Perrin because she wanted to stimulate more conversation about the positive opportunities presented by climate change. The concert features her new piano suite (2016), guest speaker Laura Coleman, and a conversation with the audience.





LOLA PERRIN: Composer, pianist, collaborator, Composer in Residence at Markson Pianos, has published eight piano suites and has two CDs on general release. Collaborates in performance with various artists including Hanif Kureishi, Sue Hubbard, Mihir Bose. Has been interviewed by Quentin Cooper, and about her climate change compositions on BBC’s The Paul Hudson Weather Show. Nada Kolundžija currently recording her music with Philip Glass, Arvo Pärt, Louis Andriessen. Performs as a solo artist, in collaboration with filmmakers, authors, artists and other pianists. She is also building a repertoire for multiple pianos that is currently being performed by various artists internationally. Recent performances include at Kennedy Centre Washington DC and Institute de Serbie, Paris.


LAURA COLEMAN is the founder and co-director of ONCA, an arts and research space in Brighton that explores ecological questions, working within the community to inspire positive environmental and social change. In her early twenties she met a rescued puma in the Bolivian Amazon, and this friendship has informed her life and work since, as a curator, producer and aspiring writer. She is currently researching her PhD at the University of Hertfordshire, looking at the role of arts venues in the context of climate change.
