Small is Beautiful Festival

This is a live interactive performance project created by Lola Perrin because she wanted to stimulate more conversations about the positive opportunities presented by climate change. The concert features a new eight part piano suite (2016), guest speaker Paul Allen, and a conversation with the audience.






LOLA PERRIN; Composer, pianist, collaborator, Composer in Residence at Markson Pianos, has published eight piano suites and has two CDs on general release. Collaborates in performance with various artists including Hanif Kureishi, Sue Hubbard, Mihir Bose. Has been interviewed by Quentin Cooper, and about her climate change compositions on BBC’s The Paul Hudson Weather Show. Nada Kolundžija currently recording her music with Philip Glass, Arvo Pärt, Louis Andriessen. Performs as a solo artist, in collaboration with filmmakers, authors, artists and other pianists. She is also building a repertoire for multiple pianos that is currently being performed by various artists internationally. Recent performances include at Kennedy Centre Washington DC and Institute de Serbie, Paris.


PAUL ALLEN Holding an Honours degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering and is currently External Relations Officer and Zero Carbon Britain Co-ordinator at the Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) in Wales. CAT is one of Europe's leading demonstration sites for renewable energy and green technologies. Paul is also Member of the Wales Science Advisory Council (2010), board member of the International Forum for Sustainable Energy (2008) and a Climate Change Commissioner for Wales (2007).
