This summer Lincoln Center booked three Israeli companies to present shows in NYC. Two of these companies receive funding from the Isreali state as part of their "Brand Israel" propaganda.

Now, exporting culture to win favor internationally is nothing new or unique and certainly not boycott worthy, but when that cultural product is used by a nation that has implemented a brutal occupation and Apartheid practice, THAT is another thing.

Theatre can absolutely change hearts and minds but that change should be to expand compassion and build empathy, not cover injustice and distract from repression.
