LaVonda Jones is an alumna of The University of Tennessee at Martin where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. She later earned a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and an Education Specialist Degree in Instructional Leadership from Freed-Hardeman University where she is currently pursuing her doctorate degree.
Mrs. Jones began her teaching career with Memphis City Schools as a middle school Language Arts teacher. After five rewarding years at Hamilton Middle School, she became a Literacy Advisor for striving schools. Upon serving two successful years as a Literacy Advisor, she joined the faculty of Bellevue Middle Optional School where she served as both the Instructional Facilitator and Assistant Principal.
In 2014, Mrs. Jones was appointed principal of Mt. Pisgah Middle School where she is honored to serve the students and families in the Cordova area. As a servant leader, she feels privileged to serve in this capacity.
Mrs. Jones enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her husband, Abdul, and two children, Jalen and Sydney Rose.
