We do need help - we make no secret of it that we would love to have more talent and assistance with our plans and in the administration of the club.
The current committee took over a couple of years ago and set about trying to make changes to save the club from financial straits while at the same time, modernising it and delivering a plan for the future.
We have succeeded in delivering some of our aims, particularly a good coaching principle with BDA qualified coaches to ensure we have consistency in how we teach new players and how we practice our skills. We have entered new competitions and attended events so that the club has become better known around the county and is seen as a participator. We are also happy that we have maintained a wonderfully friendly attitude even though we are now catering both to the social and the more serious bowler.
We want to complete the plan by the end of five years to
- Be financially independent
- Compete in national, county and local competitions
- Develop higher level coaching
- Create a junior and a partially disabled section that compete in local competitions
- Upgrade the facilities further including replacement of all old kit, the green and surrounds and the out buildings.
- Have a number of people in the club running different bowling sessions and sections.
- Have a croquet team participating in league matches
